We are Michelle and Brian, and our hearts are wide open for animals. Besides ourselves, we are lucky to share our home with four snuggly shelter rescues: Juander, Yzma, Penny (the ultimate floof!), and Little Kitty Underfoot Pumpernickel.
We recently enjoyed a 5-month road trip with our two dogs, Juander and Yzma. The time spent with them really helped us realize that caring for them and spending time with our animals sincerely helps them AND us.
Having shared our home with pets for so many years, we understand the demand for quality pet care by people who “get it.” Pets are family, period.
Being naturally detail-oriented and actually enjoying pet time, we’re pleased to care for your non-human companions when you can’t. Are you planning a trip or perhaps Barkley needs a ride to the vet? Is that meeting going longer than expected? Can’t say no to an unexpected dinner with the boss? Car acting up and can’t get home for the lunchtime dog walk? Family emergency and you need to head out ASAP? While plans are great, we also understand that life happens and last-minute things pop up. We’re happy to step in and do our best to be available to cover the unexpected.
We’ve personally been caring for animals for decades and have decided to put into practice that which we’re already happily doing for friends and family. Between us, we also have hands-on veterinary experience and over five years’ experience volunteering with farm animals.
We have shared the joys of puppies and kittens as well as the difficult times with chronically ill pets so we understand the spectrum from rambunctious to mellow to needing quiet gentleness.
A few of our extracurricular highlights have included a rescue of 11 baby rats, aiding injured or helpless wildlife (primarily birds and rabbits), and had the experience of federally protected birds nesting in our chimney. (Most wouldn’t appreciate that but it was a unique experience and ultimately, we were happy to help them on their migration.)
We offer Buddy Break discounts as well as senior (65+), active military, veteran, first responder and last responder discounts.

Nope! Our initial visit is a quick meet-and-greet with you and your pet(s), which provides everyone a chance to see if personalities mesh in a no-pressure environment. This is also a great time to ask questions, explain pet routines, and provide keys.
This is your choice! Some repeat clients prefer that we keep the spare set of keys to have on hand for unplanned visits while others choose to have them returned.
We recommend as much notice as possible for planned trips so we can get you on the calendar and as-soon-as-you-know for last-minute visits.
There is a cancellation fee equal to the first-paid visit rate if cancelled within 24 hours.
Is your dog’s best canine friend a few doors down or maybe a block away? If we pet sit or dog walk for you and a nearby neighbor and your dogs would benefit from some fun-time together during a dog walk, you’ll both get a discount! (We limit to two dogs per pet walker for pet safety and attention. Are there more in your pack, let’s talk!)
Walk time or playtime is ultimately determined by the number of pets you have. For example, if you have one dog and are doing the 30-minute visit with minimal in-home items, the walk or playtime can be closer to 20 minutes. If you have 2 dogs that can be walked together and are doing the 30-minute visit, the same would apply. If you have two dogs who need to be walked separately, we'd suggest a longer visit so each pooch gets a good amount of walk time. (We're happy to work with you on figuring out which visits would best suit you!)
We are licensed, bonded, and insured for you peace of mind.
